Ali's Blog: Going Strong Into the Final Home Stretch

Nov. 24, 2007

Dear Sun Devil Fans,

Last weekend was a tough weekend. We are still searching for that special spark that we had during the middle of the season.  We also are still searching for that coveted last victory that we need.  Unfortunately it did not come last weekend when we played Stanford and Cal.   Both matches were very close in the first two games and then in the third games we seemed to come unraveled.   Although we lost the matches were a good learning experience both mentally and physically to prepare us for this weekend. We have two more matches left in the season which equals two more chances to control our fate.

This week we are facing UCLA and USC.  Both teams are very talented and we have our work cut out for us.  We have been watching a lot of video on UCLA. They have been hard to scout because their line-up is constantly changing. So consequently we have analyzed all of the different rotations that UCLA has presented and we feel confident that we will be prepared.  USC has a very strong offense lead by their All-American outside hitter Asia Kaczor.  We have been looking at different blocking schemes to try and defend them. The games are going to be exciting I can guarantee it.  It is going to come down to who wants it more and everyone knows that we are hungry for the postseason.

This marks the end of the road for all six seniors.   This weekend will be the last time that we will ever play at Wells Fargo Arena. I would like to say on behalf of the senior's thank you so much for all of your support over the last four years. We plan to go out with a BANG! So come out and support your Sun Devils and the seniors one more time.  We play UCLA on Thursday and USC on Friday both matches are at Wells Fargo Arena at 7 p.m.

Thank you for all of your support,

Talk to you soon.

-Ali
