USC Set To Host First And Second Rounds Of 2007 NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament

LOS ANGELES - The USC women's volleyball team has been awarded the No. 5 seed and will host the first and second rounds of the 2007 NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament. The Trojans, who finished the season with a 25-4 record and third-place finish in the Pac-10 Conference at 14-4, will face Pepperdine (18-10) on Friday (Nov. 30) at 7 p.m., preceded with a first-round match at 5 p.m. between Long Beach State (25-6) and UNLV (24-5). The winners of both matches will play a second-round match on Saturday (Dec. 1) at 7 p.m. with the winner of that contest advancing to the regional tournament in Gainesville, Fla.
UNLV won the Mountain West Conference championship while Long Beach State finished second in the Big West Conference behind Cal Poly. Pepperdine finished third this season in the West Coast Conference.
