Stanford Swimming Alum Ben Wildman-Tobriner Wins Golden Goggle Award

Ben Wildman-Tobriner was honored with the Breakout Performer of the Year Award for his stellar performances in 2007. The Biomechanical Engineering major set a new American Record at NCAAs in the short course 50 free, then won the World Championship in Melbourne, followed that by graduating from Stanford and finally capped the impressive streak off by earning the U.S. National title in the 50 with a 21.80, one of the fastest times in the world this year. Wildman-Tobriner received the award over Rebecca Soni of USC and Kim Vandenberg from UCLA, as the Pac-10 was well represented in the category. Ben will compete in the Short Course U.S. National Championships this weekend, November 29-31, in Atlanta, GA.
