USC Center Nadia Parker Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--USC junior center Nadia Parker has been named the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 19-25, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Parker set several career-highs in helping USC to a come-from-behind win over Virginia Tech, 65-64, at the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas and also helped the Trojans come close to an upset of No. 8/9 Georgia, as they fell by only a single basket, 59-57.
The Trojans overcame a 15-point deficit in the win over Virginia Tech behind Parker's 21 points and 11 rebounds -- the junior's first career double-double. Parker's 9-of-11 (.818) mark from the field was also a career best.
Parker, from Spanaway, Wash., added seven points and seven rebounds in the loss to the Bulldogs. She currently leads the Trojans in rebounding (7.3 rpg) and ranks second in scoring (10.0 ppg).
USC has a light schedule this week as it travels the short distance to take on Cal State Fullerton on Fri., Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.
This is the first Player of the Week award of Parker's career and the 35th all-time for the Trojans.
