Washington's Christal Morrison Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- WASHINGTON outside hitter Christal Morrison has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Nov. 19- 25, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Morrison, a senior from Puyallup, Wash., helped the Huskies to two victories over Oregon State and No. 13 Oregon to close out their regular season schedule. Against the Beavers, Morrison became the Huskies all-time leader in kills with 13 that night. She hit .163, added eight digs and an ace as Washington went on to sweep Oregon State.

In the 3-1 win against ranked Oregon, Morrison had a match-high 21 kills for her 14th straight match in double-figures, hit .320, and finished with eight total blocks, including a season-high three solos.

For the weekend, Morrison averaged 4.67 kpg, 1.29 bpg, and 5.86 ppg.

It is Morrison's seventh weekly honor and Washington's 25th Pac-10 Player of the Week all-time.
