Sun Devils Earn Five NCAA Consideration Times in the Texas Invite Day Two Preliminaries

Day two of the Texas Invite opened the 400 IM. Senior CJ Nuess, who had earned All-American accolades in the event last season, had the fastest 400 IM time of the preliminary trials. Touching in at 3:49.51, the Medical Lake, Wash., native earned an NCAA consideration time in the event and will compete in tonight's 'A' final.
The Sun Devils saw a great deal of success in the 200 free as well. Jen Beckberger had the fifth fastest preliminary time. She clocked in at 1:47.68 to earn a consideration time and a spot in the 'A' final. Lindsey Brown and Caitlin Andrew both earned spots in the 'B' final touching in at 1:49.25 and 1:49.42 respectively. Brown's time was an NCAA consideration time.On the men's side of the 200 free, Vinicius Waked swam a 1:37.90 to place himself in the 'C' final.
Andrew clocked in an NCAA consideration time in the 100 back. With a time of 55.08, the senior All-American earned a spot in tonight's 'A' final, holding the sixth fastest time in the preliminaries. Jamie Martinez finished the 100 back in 56.36 to qualify for tonight's 'C' final. Clocking in a time of 48.75, Ante Cvitkovic earned an NCAA consideration time in the 100 back. He will swim again in tonight's 'B' final.
In the 200 breast, three Sun Devil women qualified for the 'B' final. Sara McDaniel finished in 1:03.93. Lindsey Russenberger clocked in a time of 1:04.75 and Ashley Evans earned a spot in the 'B' final with a time of 1:04.94. On the men's side, Eddy Salcido and John Dwelley also qualified for the 'B' final. Salcido touched in at 55.56 while Dwelley finished in 56.66.
The finals for today's events will begin at 6 p.m. CT.
