Women's Tennis Signs Duke Transfer

Nov. 30, 2007

Husky women's tennis coach Jill Hultquist today announced the signing of Clelia Deltour, a transfer from Duke University who will join the team for the 2008-09 season. After three successful years at Duke, Deltour graduated early with one year of eligibility remaining.

Deltour was a key singles contributor for Duke, which finished last season ranked No. 21 in the nation and reached the NCAA Second Round. Her overall record at Duke was 63 wins and 31 losses. In 2006, Deltour reached a career-high national singles ranking of No. 76.

'We are very fortunate to sign such a high-level player like Clelia. She has come from a Top-25 program and we will benefit from all of her experiences,' said Hultquist.

Deltour, who hails from Savigny su Orge in France, is currently working with autistic children in Seattle until graduate school begins next year.

She trained for four years at the French national center at Roland Garros, and competed in the French Open junior tournament in 2002.
