California finishes SC Nationals with a team score of 229

Cal's foursome of Dana Vollmer, Lauren Boyle, Madison Kennedy and Emily Silver captured first place in the 800 free relay in the final day of competition of the 2007 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming Short Course National Championships with a time of 7:06.50, outlasting the foursomes of Club Wolverine, Auburn, Southern Methodist and Sun Devil aquatics.
The Golden Bears captured another first place finish in the 400 medley relay as the foursome of Lauren Rogers, Alexandra Ellis, Vollmer and Silver touched the wall at 3:38.47, .13 seconds ahead of second-place Auburn (3:38.60). Cal's other group of Kennedy, Boyle, Amanda Sims and Hannah Wilson placed eighth in the 400 medley with a time of 3:43.78.
Cal kept its theme of first-place finishes in dramatic style in the 400 free relay as Kennedy, Wilson, Vollmer and Silver finished .01 seconds ahead of Auburn (3:16.03), with a time of 3:16.02.
The Bears enjoy an extended break and will begin its spring portion of the season on January 25, 2008 vs. Arizona.
