No. 11 Cal Men's Swimming Competes in Third Day of Husky Invitational

SEATTLE - The No. 11-ranked Cal men's swimming competed in six events Saturday at the Husky Invitational, held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
Top finishes for the Golden Bears were junior David Russell finishing first in the 200 Back with a NCAA qualifying 1:42.58; sophomore Sean Mahoney placed second in the 200 Breast with a time of 1:57.62; senior William Copeland finished first in the 100 Free in a time of 43.76; and Cal's 400 Free relay of senior Joe Whittington, Copeland, senior Jernej Godec and freshman Graeme Moore finished first with a time of 2:55.49. All times were season highs in their respective events.
Other top individual finishes for the Bears were senior Mark Eckert and senior Louis Vayo finishing third and fifth respectively in the 200 Back; Godec and Whittington finished second and sixth in the 100 Free with times of 44.80 and 44.78 respectively; sophomore Aaron Casey finished fifth in the 1650 Free with a season high 15:43.34.
In the final day of the Husky Invitational on Sunday, Dec. 2, Cal will be participating in a long course time trial beginning at 9:30 a.m.
