Thomas Weber Named Pac-10 Special Teams Player of the Week

TEMPE, Ariz. - Redshirt freshman kicker and Groza Award Finalist Thomas Weber has been named the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced today. It marks the third time this season Weber has won the award from the conference.

Weber, from Downey, Calif., was two-for-two on field goal attempts in Arizona State's 20-17 win against rival Arizona.He also converted both his PAT attempts, averaged 61.6 yards on kickoffs and punted eight times for a 37.4-yard average. The win over the Wildcats gave ASU a share of the Pac-10 championship.

Weber is currently in West Palm Beach, Florida attending the Lou Groza Award Banquet. He previously won Player of the Week honors following wins over Stanford and Washington State.

Weber and the Co-Pac-10 Champion Sun Devils will take on #17 Texas in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl on December 27 in San Diego.
