Eugene Godsoe Named Pac-10 Men's Swimmer Of The Month
Dec. 5, 2007
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Eugene Godsoe has been named Pac-10 Men's Swimmer of the Month for November, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today. This is the first monthly honor for Godsoe and Stanford's fourth men's Swimmer of the Month honor all-time.
Godsoe, a sophomore from Greensboro, N.C., did not lose a single backstroke event through the first three competitions in November as he helped the Cardinal win their meet against Washington, and won all three backstroke events at the Cal Triple-Distance meet and led Stanford to their fifth-straight Nike Cup victory.
Against Washington, he was part of the winning 400 medley and 200 free relays and won the 200 back in 1:47.65. At the Cal Triple-Distance competition, he placed first in the 50, 100, and 200 back. During the three-day Nike Cup competition, Godsoe helped Stanford win the 200 and 400 medley relays and placed first in the 100 and 200 back.
