Coach Dave Salo Inks Five Prep Standouts

Prep standout swimmers Tanya Krisman of Wildomar, Calif., Courtney Kalisz of Bel Air, Md., Julian Bonse of Huntington Beach, Calif., Brent Hitchcock of Dayton, Ohio, and Patrick White of Newport Beach, Calif., have signed letters of intent with USC, head swim coach Dave Salo announced on Wednesday (Dec. 12).
Kalisz, a 2004 Olympic Trials semifinalist in the 200m fly, preps at Fallston (Md.) High. She was a 2007 Pan Am Games silver medalist in the 200m fly and ranked No. 19th in the world in the event in 2006. She was a member of the 2006 National B Team and the 2005 National Junior Team. She was fifth in the 200m fly at the 2005 U.S. World Championship Trials and earned silver in the 200m fly and bronze in the 400m IM at Junior Pan Pacs.
Krisman, a 2006 Junior National Team member, preps at Lake Elsinore High. She is a 2008 Olympic Trials qualifier in the 100m and 200m fly. The Californian's 2007 Girls Swimmer of the Year, Krisman won the 200m fly at the 2006 American Short Course Championships and was a finalist in the event at the 2007 U.S. Summer Nationals. Hitchcock, a prep All-American at Catholic Central High, is a senior national qualifier who owns the U.S. junior national record in the 1500m free. At the 2007 U.S. Junior National Championships, Hitchcock was a consolation finalist in the 200m and 400m free and the 200m back
White, who preps at Mater Dei High, is a sprint to middle distance freestyler. White was second in both the 100m and 200m free at the 2007 CIF Southern Section Championships. He also competed at the 2007 U.S. Junior National Championships, reaching the final of the 200m free and the consolation final of the 100m free. He also competed in the 50m free and 100m fly.
Bonse, who preps at Huntington Beach (Calif.) High, competed at the 2007 U.S. Junior National Championships in the 200m, 400m free and 800m free and the 200m fly.
More signees may be announced at a later date.
