Women's Tennis Adds Freshman for Dual Season

Dec. 14, 2007

The University of Washington women's tennis team announced the addition of Montenegro native Vanja Radunovic, who will join the team in January at the start of winter quarter and be eligible for the dual season.

Radunovic has much international tournament experience. In April, she represented her country on the Montenegro Fed Cup team and led them to a win over Malta with a singles victory.

'We are very excited about Vanja joining our team in January. Her experience will bring some added depth to our line-up,' said first-year Assistant Coach Damon Coupe. 'We know she will make an immediate impact on our program.'

Radunovic will be a freshman with all four years of eligibility remaining. Washington, which has coped with a depleted roster the past two years, now has 11 student-athletes on the roster for the spring.

The Huskies season-opening dual match is in Hawaii against Sacramento State on January 19th.
