Dec. 16, 2007

BERKELEY, Calif. - California senior defender Courtney Hooker has been named a 2007 first-team National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-West Region selection. This marks Hooker's first selection to the all-region first team after earning spots on the second team as a sophomore and junior and being a third-team pick as a freshman.

Hooker also has been selected a second-team Lowe's All-Senior All-American. The first-team All-Pac-10 choice and second-team Pac-10 All-Academic honoree anchored Cal's defense over the last four seasons. Hooker, a product of Woodland Hills, Calif., helped Cal record 48 shutouts in her 85 collegiate games.

Cal, which posted 11 shutouts this year, posted a 15-5-1 record this season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
