Lumpkin/Wetmore Win Consolation Doubles Title in Las Vegas

Las Vegas - Elizabeth Lumpkin and Stephanie Wetmore teamed together to win a pair of matches on Sunday to claim the Flight-I consolation doubles title at the Freeman Memorial Championships held at UNLV's Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Lumpkin and Wetmore began the day with an 8-3 victory over ASU's Wendy Pilecka/Kelcy McKenna in the semifinals. They then claimed the championship with a dominating 8-1 decision against Georgia Tech's Whitney McCray/Amanda McDowell.
Bruin junior Ashley Joelson was also in action on Sunday, as she fell in the Flight-I consolation singles final, 6-1, 6-0 to McKenna.
Joelson and Alex McGoodwin fell in the Flight-I doubles semifinal on Sunday, dropping an 8-4 decision to Stanford's Jessica Nguyen/Whitney Deason.
