Head Coach Erica Quam Says: (On the event and the competition): 'I think this will be a great opportunity to see some different swimmers from all over. Some of the top United States National team members will be there. The Grand Prix series is a great event for a lot of swimmers around the country to tune up for the final push going into Beijing for the Olympics. For us, it will be a great event to get back into racing and to get ready for the Pacific-10 Championships.'(On the expectations for the Cougar swimmers): 'We've got a lot of potential to step up. People are coming off a great training camp, and we'll be looking to find some speed again after really working on our aerobic base. I think we've got quite a few people seeded in the top 16. It will be a pretty good experience since this is where we will be swimming the Pac-10s. It is a chance to go to the facility we'll be competing at and continuing to get adjusted to it the atmosphere.'
Next Up for the Cougars: WSU will be hosting Oregon State Feb. 1 at Gibb Pool.
