Women's Hoops To Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day

SEATTLE -- Washington women's basketball will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day in conjunction with the Huskies' home game with Washington State, Sunday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. at Bank of America Arena.
All girls in attendance at the game are encouraged to wear a uniform from a sports team they have played on and are invited participate in a special procession onto the court at halftime. Among the special guests participating in Sunday's festivities will be Washington state Governor Christine Gregoire.
In addition to the halftime festivities, the first 1000 kids in the doors at Bank of America Arena will receive a free purple headband courtesy of Pepsi. Student-athletes from the women's soccer, gymnastics and softball teams will also sign autographs on the south concourse of the arena prior to the game, with face painting and sign making also available in the Husky Kids Corner.
