Second round action of Pac-10 play gets underway this week with UCLA holding a one game lead over STANFORD, meanwhile the next six teams in the standings are separated by just one game... You would think that the home team would have an advantage of playing in familiar surroundings. Not so fast. Home court victories during the first round of league play were a little tough to come by as the home team posted a 23-22 record during the first go around of league action... This week's Top 25 polls include UCLA (No. 5 AP/No. 4 ESPN/USA Today), Stanford (9/9), WASHINGTON STATE (17/17).

Pac-10 Notes

• Senior G Jawann McClellan posted a career-high 23 points as he hit 7-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-5 from three-point range and added eight rebounds in the win over USC. After scoring 10 points in the loss to UCLA, he's shooting 22-of-38 (.579) from the field and averaging 12.2 points the last five games.
• After averaging 79.8 points per game in its previous four games going into the UCLA game, Arizona managed just 60 points on Saturday. Arizona is 13-3 when scoring 70 points or more and 2-4 when tallying less. Through the first half of Pac-10 play, the Cats are averaging 77.5 ppg in four home games and 66.0 ppg in five road games.

• Freshman G James Harden has led the Sun Devils in scoring in nine of the last 10 games.
• The Sun Devils snapped one 12-game losing streak to Arizona earlier this season in Tempe and now head to Tucson where it looks to snap another 12-game losing streak in McKale Center. The last ASU victory in Tucson was a 103-98 (2OT) win at the end of the 1995 regular season.
• Freshman F Rihards Kuksiks is shooting 11-of-24 (.458) from three-point range for the season. All but three of his field goals are from beyond the arc.

• Senior C DeVon Hardin missed the Washington State and Washington games last week with viral infection.
• The Bears are shooting a Pac-10 best 76.7 percent from the free throw line this season. That figure currently ranks seventh in the NCAA. Cal's school record is 76.9 percent set last year.
• Sophomore F Ryan Anderson is shooting 24-of-44 (.545) from three-point range in Pac-10 play.
• The Bears swept the Washington road trip for the first time since the 2003 season.
• In six of its seven losses, Cal has either trailed by two, was tied, or led in the last three minutes of regulation.

• Senior G Malik Hairston needs 10 points to reach 1,500 for his career. When he does, so he'll move into the school's top ten career scoring list.
• Sophomore G Tajuan Porter struggled from beyond the arc through the first eight games of league play, shooting 12-of-50 (240). In Saturday's win over Oregon State, Porter responded with a 5-of-8 (.625) performance from three-point range in scoring 23 points. It was his third 20-plus point effort of the season.
• Senior F Maarty Leunen not only has posted 1,000 points and 800 rebounds during his career, but also has added 100 steals and needs two assists for 200 assists.

• Brother act sophomore G/F Seth Tarver and sophomore G Josh Tarver have combined to average 19.4 points, 4.90 assists and 2.24 steals per game. Seth has scored in double figures in 15 of 21 games this season.
• Freshman F Omari Johnson is averaging 5.9 rebounds per game in Pac-10 play. He's third among all freshmen in rebounding in Pac-10 play, behind UCLA's Kevin Love (12.7 rpg) and USC's Davon Jefferson (6.4 rpg).
• Ten different players have started a game this season for the Beavers. Nine have earned six or more starts.
• OSU ranks 47th in the nation in turnovers (13.0 per game). It's one of six Pac-10 teams among the nation's top 50.

• Sophomore F Brook Lopez scored a career-high 31 points and added 13 rebounds in the win at Washington. Lopez has led the team in scoring in each of the last six games, averaging 23.0 ppg.
• The Cardinal defense has stepped up in league play as Stanford has held its Pac-10 opponent's leading scorer below his averaging in seven of nine league games.
• Stanford ranks third in the nation with a +10.2 rebound margin, trailing only North Carolina (12.0) and UCLA (10.6).
• Junior F Lawrence Hill hit 6-of-18 (.333) from three-point range through eight Pac-10 games, then connected on 4-of-6 (.667) from long range in the win at Washington State.

• Junior G Darren Collison ran his streak of 32 consecutive free throws made before he missed his first attempt of the game vs. Arizona. He set a school record for consecutive free throws made in conference games.
• Freshman C Kevin Love has posted six consecutive double-doubles, averaging 22.2 points and 14.3 rebounds during that span.
• Sophomore G Russell Westbrook scored a career-high 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting against Arizona.
• The Bruins are 16-0 when scoring 70 or more points and have averaged 83 points a game in their last four games.
• The Bruins are third in the nation with a +10.6 rebound margin.

• Sophomore F Taj Gibson is shooting 58-of-80 (.725) from the field over the last 11 games. With 116 career blocked shots, Gibson is tied for fourth on the school's all-time list. He needs 14 blocks to move up to No. 2 on the list, but it'll take some time to reach Sam Clancy's school record of 195 blocks.
• In the first 21 games, USC's freshmen scored 756 of the 1,460 points (51.8 percent) and the freshman and sophomores accounted for 1,407 of the 1,460 points (96.4 percent). The 96.4 percent of the team's scoring coming from underclassmen is the highest in the country.
• The next USC victory will give coach Tim Floyd career win No. 300.

• Junior F Jon Brockman has collected a double-double in 10 of the last 13 games. He has posted a double-double in 21 of his last 34 games. While Brockman did not post a double-double in his last game, junior C Artem Wallace did with the first double-double of his career collecting 17 points/11 rebounds against California.
• The next win will give coach Lorenzo Romar his 116th at the helm of the Huskies. It will tie him with Bob Bender (1994-2002) for the No. 4 spot on the school's list.
• With 197 career-three pointers, senior G Ryan Appleby needs 15 more buckets from beyond the arc to reach the school record of 212 (Deon Luton, 1997-2000).

• Junior G Taylor Rochestie turned the ball over twice in the first Pac-10 game of the season. In the eight league games that followed, he posted 46 assists with just six turnovers. His assist/turnover ratio is an amazing 6.00 in Pac-10 play.
• Senior G Kyle Weaver scored a career-high 23 points in the loss to Stanford. He hit a 15-of-19 from the free throw line. He needs 15 points to reach 1,000 career points.
• The Cougars average a Pac-10 best 10.3 turnovers per game, which ranks third in the NCAA. WSU turned the ball over just four times in the overtime loss to Stanford.
• WSU has lost two in a row for the first time since March 4 and 8, 2006.
