Huskies Open 2008 Season In Las Vegas Today

SEATTLE - The No. 11/No. 14 (NFCA/USA Softball) Washington softball team opens the 2008 season on the road in Las Vegas at the three-day Sportco Spring Kick-Off Classic (Feb. 8-10). The Huskies will play five games, starting with a 10 a.m. game against Loyola-Chicago at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8. Washington faces Texas Tech later that day at 12:15 p.m.

On Saturday, the Huskies will play host UNLV at 4:45 p.m. before taking on the Canadian National Team at 7 p.m. Washington closes out the tournament on Sunday with a 3 p..m. game against UNLV.

Washington has opened each of its 15 seasons with a multiple-team tournament, accruing a 57-16 record. The Huskies have gone undefeated in four of those tournaments (1996, 2000, 2002, 2003) and are 11-4 in season openers.
