PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University tennis team (5-1 overall), ranked No. 47 (ITA) nationally, plays host to two schools...Utah Utes (3-1 overall) face the Cougars first, Friday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m...the Cougars then host Nevada (1-1 overall), Sunday, Feb 17 at 10 a.m...both matches will be played at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse.

Series Against Upcoming Opponents - Against No. 67 Utah, WSU holds the all-time advantage of 4-0...last time the two teams squared off, January 25, 2007, WSU defeated the Utes, 4-3 in Utah...No. 70 Nevada has had better luck against the Cougars, they hold the all-time advantage 2-0...last time the two teams met, February 3, 2007, Nevada held off WSU 4-3 in Pullman.

Road Trip - Two weeks ago the Cougars traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo., for a three match road trip beginning Friday Feb. 1...WSU defeated Wyoming 4-3, led by senior Ekaterina Burduli who blanked Corina Lazar 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles...Burduli now holds a 16-3 record for the Cougars, which is best on the team...Saturday, the Cougars shut out Air Force No. 2, freshman Ekaterina Kamendova continued playing well as she defeated Lauren Wilson 7-5, 6-2 to improve her record to 11-5...WSU faced off against No. 41 Denver for the final match of the weekend...the Pioneers got the best of the match, defeating the Cougars 7-0.

History in the Making - After defeating Air Force's Christine Abayan 6-1, 6-4, WSU senior Ekaterina Burduli now as 79 career singles victories...the 79 victories ties her for second all-time on the WSU career singles wins up is Erica Perkins, who holds the school record with 87 career wins.

Rankings - The Washington State tennis team has jumped out to a 5-1 record early in dual match play...WSU currently has a team ranking of No. 47 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association ...Burduli is still holding onto the No. 91 spot in singles play.

Utah vs. Nevada - Saturday February 16, No. 67 Utah will take on No. 70 Nevada...the match will be held at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse at noon.
