Feb. 13, 2008
The 15th-ranked UCLA swim and dive team will play host to No. 25 USC on Friday at noon as five Lexus Gauntlet Points are on the line for both teams. Swimming will be contested at Men's Gym Pool while diving will be held at the Sunset Canyon Recreation Center.
The Trojans come to Westwood with a 4-5 record (1-5 in Pac-10 action). UCLA has a record of 4-3 (2-4 in Pac-10 action). USC holds a one meet lead in the overall series between the two schools (17-16). Last season, the Bruins took home the dual meet victory as the meet came down to the wire with UCLA winning the competition in the final relay of the meet.
Friday's competition marks the final action of the regular season for both squads as the post-season begins February 27th with the Pac-10 Championships.
The meet also marks the final home competition for five seniors - Cara Davidoff, Shannon Hackett, Nicolette Teo, Katherine Wong and Chiemi Yamamoto. Special recognition will be given to the senior class prior to the start of Friday's competition.
In the Lexus Gauntlet competition, USC holds a 40-12 lead. Either school needs 57.5 points to win the Lexus Gauntlet Trophy.
