Two Bruin Doubles Teams Still Alive in La Jolla

La Jolla, Calif. - UCLA had a pair of doubles teams advance to the round of 16 on Friday's opening day of the 119th Pacific Coast Doubles Championships at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.

After receiving a bye in the first round, UCLA's Nick Meister and Harel Srugo, seeded No. 4, defeated Matan Shitrit/Tim Shultz van Endert, 7-5, 6-0. They followed that up with a 6-0, 7-5 decision against the team of Brandon Coupe/Philip Kao. Next up is a meeting with Eric Amend/Andrew Piotrowski on Saturday.

UCLA's Mathieu Dehaine and Holden Seguso, seeded No. 7, also began the day with a bye before downing teammates Kelvin Kim / Jake Fleming, 6-2, 7-6(3). Dehaine and Seguso then beat Andre Feliz/Bartosz Golas, 6-1, 6-3. They will face second-seeded K.C. Corkery/Billy Grokenberger on Saturday.
