Brian Lawler Places Seventh on the Platform at the Pac-10 Diving Championships

FEDERAL WAY, WASH. - California junior transfer Brian Lawler placed seventh on the platform Saturday at the 2008 Pac-10 Conference Diving Championships, hosted at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Wash. Lawler, who transferred to Cal this season from Boston University, but who is originally from San Luis Obispo, tallied a score of 309.65 in the finals after sitting in the sixth spot with a score of 309.40 in the morning prelims.

Golden Bear freshmen Taylor Dehn and Thomas Henninger were ninth (269.00) and 11th (216.55) in the platform preliminary rounds, respectively.

Lawler's Top 10 finish in the platform competition concluded a fine showing for Cal at the conference diving meet. On Thursday, Dehn, from Mission Viejo, tallied a score of 302.30 in the final round to place eighth in the men's three-meter competition. On Friday, Henninger finished sixth, and Dehn, seventh, in the one-meter competition. Henninger, from Glenside, Pa., tallied a score of 307.45, while Dehn had a mark of 299.0.
