Men's Tennis Team Concludes Play in La Jolla

La Jolla, Calif. - UCLA's hopes for a title at the 119th Pacific Coast Doubles Championships came to an end on Saturday, as the Bruins' two remaining teams lost in the quarterfinals at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Complete Draws
Mathieu Dehaine and Holden Seguso, seeded No. 7, upset the second-seeded team of K. C. Corkery/Billy Grokenberger, 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 in the round of 16. They were beaten in the semifinals, however, falling to third-seeded Omar Altmann/Andre Begemann, 6-1, 7-6(4).
UCLA's Nick Meister and Harel Srugo also won their round of 16 match earlier Saturday, posting a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Eric Amend/Andrew Piotrowski. Their tournament came to an end with a 6-1, 7-5 loss to top-seeded Achim Ceban/Benedikt Stronk in the quarterfinals.
UCLA returns to dual-match action next week, hosting No. 24 Rice on Wednesday and No. 7 USC on Thursday. Both matches begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
