Wallace In Second, Huskies Fifth After Two Rounds at USC Collegiate

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Sophomore Darren Wallace is in second-place and the Washington men's golf team is tied for fifth after the first two rounds of the USC Collegiate Invitational at North Ranch Country Club, Monday.
Wallace carded rounds of 3-over 74 and 1-under 70 and is runner-up on the individual leaderboard at 2-over 144 heading into Tuesday's final round. He is three shots behind leader Jason D'Amore of Loyola Marymount who is 1-under 141.
Led by Wallace, Washington is 35-over 603 after two rounds and is tied with LMU for fifth in the team race. The Huskies shot 21-over 305 in the opening round and then rebounded with a 14-over 298 in the second. UW trails leader USC by 12 shots as the Trojans are 23-over 591 with a five-stroke lead over Pepperdine (28-over 596).
Husky sophomore Nick Taylor is tied for 20th at 9-over 151. Unlike Wallace, Taylor turned in a better showing in the first round with a 3-over 74. He shot 6-over 77 in the second round.
The USC Collegiate Invitational wraps up with the final round on Tuesday beginning at 7:30 a.m. Live scoring will be provided on GolfStat.com.
