March 4, 2008

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior guard Candice Wiggins will be appearing live on the NBC11 News at 6 p.m. Tuesday night, taking part in a live talk-back with NBC11 sports anchor Raj Mathai. The chat will cover Wiggins breaking Lisa Leslie's all-time Pac-10 scoring record in Sunday's 74-52 victory at Washington State, as well as the Pac-10 regular-season champion Cardinal's preparation for this weekend's Pac-10 Tournament.

Wiggins, who entered Sunday's game just 15 points away from breaking Lisa Leslie's Pac-10 record of 2,414 career points, drove the left baseline and scored a layup with 1:25 remaining in the first half to become the conference's all-time leading scorer. At the next stoppage of play, Wiggins was presented with the basketball with which she scored the record-breaking points, to the applause of both teams and the fans in attendance.

Stanford will open Pac-10 Tournament play as the draw's top seed, and will open play Saturday at 5 p.m. against the winner of Friday's Arizona-Oregon State play-in game.
