UCLA Tied for Second after Day One in Las Vegas

The third-ranked UCLA men's golf team was tied for second place following the first day of competition at the Southern Highlands Collegiate, hosted by UNLV at Southern Highlands GC.
The Bruins posted an even par score of 288 and were tied with UNLV. Eighth-ranked USC was first at three-under par 285. Fourth-ranked Charlotte and second-ranked Georgia were tied for fourth place at 289 (+1), followed by Texas A&M in sixth at 291 (+3).
UCLA junior Erik Flores, a winner in his last event, led the Bruins with a score of two-under par 70 and was tied for sixth place. Freshman Philip Francis and sophomore Jason Kang were tied for 16th place at even par 72. Senior Craig Leslie finished in a tie for 28th after posting a 74 (+2) and Kevin Chappell was tied for 53rd after posting a round of 77 (+5).
Charlotte's Jonas Enander Hedin and UNLV's Matt Kinsinger were tied for first place at 68 (-4).
