No. 7 USC Defeats Washington State, 7-0

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Washington State University women's tennis team continued its Southern California road trip by falling to No. 7 USC, 7-0, Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles.

The Trojans opened the scoring by sweeping all three doubles matches for the opening point.

In singles play USC won all six matches in straight sets as all six Trojan singles players hold a national ranking. No. 38 Lindsey Nelson posted a 6-0, 6-2 win over Aleksandra Stefanova at No. 1 while No. 17 Amanda Fink posted a 6-0, 6-2 win over Ekaterina Kamendova at No. 2.

At No. 3, Sarah Fansler earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Bianca Selaru and No. 66 Gabriela Niculescu defeated Aleksandra Cekic, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 4. No. 105 Maria Sanchez posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jessica Gomez at No. 5 while No. 101 Leyla Entekhabi earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Marina Nicolas at No. 6

The Cougas continue their five-match road swing Monday at UC Santa Barbara. Match time is set for 1:30 p.m.
