Women's Golf in Second After Opening Round of Spring Invitational

BOULDER CREEK, Nev. - Senior Tracy Broders and sophomore Diana Hong sit in a tie for second and led the Washington State University women's golf team in the opening round of the Spring Invitational, Monday at the par-72, 6,204-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club.
The Cougar women ended the opening round in second place and combined for a total score of 285 (-3). The Cougars are one of two teams under par and are also only one stroke out of the lead behind the host of the tournament, UNLV.
Hong and Broders both shot a 3-under par 69 and look to remain in the top 10 heading into the second round of play. Broders put together a bogey free round and started the tournament with two straight birdies. Hong also started the tournament well as she posted two birdies and an eagle in the first nine holes.
Senior Brooke Henderson sits in the top 25 after carding a 1-over 73, good for a tie at 19th. Junior Amy Eneroth remains close behind after inking a 74 while junior Jessica Black posted a 76 to round out the Cougar contingent.
The women look to remain in the hunt for the lead as second round action begins 7:30 a.m., Tuesday.
