Women's Golf in Third at Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational

Oahu, Hawaii - The Arizona State women's golf team is in third place after the first round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitation. ASU shot a 13-over 301, 15 strokes off tournament leader Arizona.

Leading the Sun Devils, sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist shot a 1-over 73 to tie for sixth place. Sophomore Juliana Murcia shot a 2-over 74 to tie for 10th place. Tied for 21st, junior All-American Azahara Munoz carded a 4-over 76. Jennifer Osborn is tied for 39th after shooting a 6-over 78. Sophomore Liisa Kelo shot an 8-over 80 to tie for 55th. Senior Camila Sola, playing as an individual, is tied for 21st, shooting 76 (+4) in the first round.

Alison Walshe of Arizona leads the tournament with a first round total of 66 (-6).

The second round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, at the par-72, 5,829-yard Kane `ohe Klipper Golf Course will continue tomorrow.
