Cal Falls to No. 17 Boise State

BOISE, Idaho - The California women's gymnastics team lost to No. 17 Boise State, Friday night at Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho. The Golden Bears (6-12) finished with a final score of 192.700, while the Broncos (13-3) secured a mark of 195.400.
Although Boise State won all four events, Cal tied its season-best mark on vault with a 48.450. On vault, senior Siobhan Luce notched a season high 9.850. The score also tied her career best.
The Bears earned their best event score on floor, tallying a 48.600. Three Cal gymnasts earned a 9.750 and junior Jessica Kelley secured a 9.775. The three Bears to earn a 9.750 were Luce, sophomore Sophia Hocini and freshman Avery Gee. The 9.750 for Luce was a season best.
On beam, Kelley and junior Bridgette Glass led the way for Cal. For the second meet in a row, Glass scored a career best 9.900. The mark was also the highest of the night among the Bears. Kelley scored a 9.800, which was a season high.
In the all-around, Hocini recorded Cal's third-best all-around score of the season with a season-high mark of 38.675. She finished second among all gymnasts, as Boise State's Hannah Redmon took first with a 39.025. Kelley and Luce tied for third with their all-around score of 38.325.
Tonight's meet ended the regular season for Cal. The Bears embark on the postseason now, as they will compete in the Pac-10 Championships Saturday, March 29, at 6 p.m. in Seattle, Wash.
