No. 38 WSU Travels to Eugene

PULLMAN, Wash - The Washington State University tennis team (11-7 overall, 0-5 Pac-10), ranked No. 38 (ITA) nationally, will travel to the No. 60 Oregon Ducks (8-8 overall, 1-3 Pac-10) Sunday March, 23 at noon, in Eugene, Oregon.
Scouting the Ducks - Oregon holds the all-time advantage of 32-18 against the Cougars...last time the two teams squared off, Feb. 29, 2008, the Cougars defeated the Ducks 4-3 in a non-conference match in Pullman...Oregon played a double header against University of Arizona and Arizona State on March 15, earning a split as they defeated Arizona 6-1.
Five Match Road Trip - Last week the Cougars were on the road for a tough five match road trip where they posted a 1-4 record...the Cougars started March 7, at No. 8 UCLA...the Bruins downed the Cougars 7-0...WSU then fell March 8, to No. 10 USC 7-0...the Cougars posted it's only victory of the road trip against UCSB...WSU downed the Gauchos 5-2...Washington State then traveled to No. 66 Cal Poly March 11, where they fell 4-3...the final match of the road trip was against No. 35 University of Washington...the Cougars fell to it's in-state rival 6-1.
History Watch - Senior Ekaterina Burduli grabbed a victory on Monday, March 10, over Marta Simic of UCSB 6-2, 6-4...Burduli pushed her season record to 23-7 with a winning percentage of .766 which is best on the team...she also improved to 12-5 in dual match play and boasts a 13-11 record in doubles play...with the win Burduli has 86 career singles victories, which is second all-time and just one away from career leader Erica Perkins.
Rankings - The Washington State tennis team has jumped out to an 11-7 record in dual match play...WSU currently has a team ranking of No. 38 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association ...Burduli now holds a ranking of No. 54 according to the ITA tennis rankings.
