Six GymDawgs Earn Pac-10 All-Academic Honors

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Six Washington gymnasts were named to the 2008 Pacific-10 Conference Women's Gymnastics All-Academic teams, announced Commissioner Tom Hansen. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be a starter or significant contributor.

Juniors Emily Epsten (San Diego, Calif.) and Kristen Omori (Kirkland, Wash.) were both selected to the Second Team, while seniors Raimey Iselin (Lake Tapps, Wash.) and Nikki Waiss (Mill Creek, Wash.) and juniors Katie Boyko (Kelso, Wash.) and Kelly Gilbert (Phoenix, Ariz.) received honorable mention accolades.

The Huskies will compete tomorrow afternoon as Washington hosts the Pac-10 Championships at Bank of America Arena. Competition is set to begin at 4 p.m.
