No. 15 Men's Tennis Falls 4-3 to California

BERKELEY, Calif. - The No. 15 Arizona State men's tennis team suffered its second loss of the season against California at the Hellman Tennis Complex in Berkeley, Calif. The Sun Devils fell 4-3 to the Golden Bears, putting them at 12-2 overall and 0-2 in conference.
The Sun Devils got off to a good start by sweeping the doubles matches. The No. 53 ranked team of T.J. Bellama and Matt Brooklyn defeated Geoff Chizever and Pedro Zerbini 8-5. The duo of Andres Arango and Harry Skinner swept past Eoin Heavey and Kallim Stewart, winning 8-4. In the No. 3 spot, Wes Miller and John Nanosky II defeated Jonathan Dahan and Bozhidar Katsarov 8-3.
In singles, the Sun Devils won two of the six matches. No. 62 ranked Arango blew past No. 116 Stewart in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 1 slot. Playing number two singles, Brooklyn handily defeated Pierre Mouillon 6-2, 6-1. Skinner put up a tough fight in the number three position but fell 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.
The Sun Devils return to Tempe next weekend when they host Oregon and Washington in two conference matches at the Whiteman Tennis Center. The match against Oregon will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday while Saturday's match versus Washington will begin at noon.
