No. 7 Stanford Delivers Pac-10 Championships
March 29, 2008
No. 7 Women's Gymnastics fell just short of a conference championship in 2007, but made sure that they wouldn't feel the same way in 2008 after scoring a 197.000 for the second straight week and bringing home the title in 2008. Senior Tabitha Yim scored a 38.550 in the all-around and senior Liz Tricase performed admirably on the vault and bars to lead the Cardinal to the victory.
Tricase's 9.950 won the bars competition and sophomore Carly Janiga's 9.950 on beam was good for first place in the competition. Yim's 39.550 won the all-around competition by over one-tenth of a point with Jamie Lanz of Oregon State coming in second place.
Yim's 9.875 in the vault competition and the Cardinal as a team won the beam competition with a score of 49.375.
Stanford now awaits its fate for the NCAA Regional pairings, which are set to be announced on Monday, Mar. 31.
