Bruins and Chanticleers Tie in Match Play Competition

The third-ranked UCLA men's golf team tied its dual match with Coastal Carolina on Mar. 28 at The Reserve Golf Club on Pawleys Island, SC.

The match, originally scheduled for TPC Myrtle Beach, was relocated to The Reserve to accommodate both teams in an afternoon competition. The Bruins and Chanticleers tied 5.0-5.0.

Five UCLA players competed head-to-head against five Coastal Carolina players with two segments of each match representing two points.

UCLA senior Kevin Chappell won both points from his opponent, CCU freshman Tripp McAllister. Junior Erik Flores won both points from junior Cameron Hooper. Sophomore Jason Kang lost both points to sophomore Sam Lyons. Junior Lucas Lee and senior Craig Leslie each lost 0.5-1.5 to their opponents.
