No. 25 Stanford Defeated By No. 4 UCLA, 6-1

April 5, 2008

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 25 Stanford men's tennis team dropped its second match of the weekend today, losing 6-1 to the No. 4 UCLA Bruins. The Cardinal are now .500 both overall (8-8) and in the Pac-10 (2-2).

Today's results were almost a repeat of yesterday's match, except for the southern California team the Cardinal faced. No. 95 sophomore Richard Wire again captured Stanford's only point, as he won his second singles match of the weekend. Wire defeated the Bruins' Michael Look in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Stanford will return back to The Farm for three matches next week. The Cardinal will take on St. Mary's on Tuesday April 8, and will continue with Pac-10 matches against Washington and Oregon on April 11 and 12.
