This week we are preparing to go down to Arizona to play the Wildcats and the Sun Devils. Last weekend went well after beating California and splitting with seventh-ranked Stanford. Freshman pitcher Aleah Macon pitched extremely well and the team played some great defense, which is ultimately what won the games for us.
This upcoming weekend we know that we will be playing some tough games against very strong pitchers. At practice we have been working on our individual offensive plans at the plate so that we have a specific pitch or location we are attacking and not swinging at pitches we can't hit well.
Today after practice the team participated in a yoga session. This is to improve our flexibility and also to both prevent and heal injuries. I have to say that some of us are not exactly very limber so it's pretty funny to see some of us try to do the poses. But overall it's a good experience and the breathing and stretching was very calming to a lot of us.
One thing everyone is very excited about for the weekend is to get back to some warm weather and sunshine! It's been too cold and rainy in Seattle this spring. The road trips to Arizona are always nice because we play night games so it's a warm but a comfortable temperature to play in. Both Arizona and Arizona State have very nice stadiums and get good fan support so it is always a fun and intense atmosphere to play in. Thank you to everyone who came out to the games last weekend, the crowd was awesome. Catch us this weekend on game tracker or listen along on the radio. Go Dawgs!
