Nwachukwu to Attend NCAA Conference

April 9, 2008

PULLMAN, Wash. - Freshman cornerback Chima Nwachukwu will represent Washington State University at the NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference May 27-29 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.

The conference provides NCAA student-athletes with a forum to openly discuss issues that may affect them on their campuses and in their communities, while also providing them with the opportunity to enhance their leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. The conference also promotes better communication among student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty and communities.

Nwachukwu was chosen by the NCAA selection committee from four WSU nominees, and is one of 700 student-athletes attending the conference. The NCAA received 1,840 nominations from student-athletes wishing to attend the conference.

Recent WSU attendees include former women's basketball player Kate Benz, swimmer Danielle Berish, former football player Mkristo Bruce and volleyball player Brittany Johnson.
