Women's Golf Returns to California for Final Regular Season Tournament

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State University women's golf team travels to Stanford, Calif., for the Peg Barnard Invitational April 11-12, hosted by Stanford...the two-day, 36-hole tournament will be played on the par-71, 6,117-yard Stanford Golf Course...the Cougars' final regular season tournament begins Friday and the final 18 holes will be played Saturday...complete results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com.
The Field: In the field of 14, the Cougars are paired with four Pacific-10 Conference foes including No. 17 California, No. 24 Stanford, Oregon State and Washington...WSU is also pared with No. 38 San Jose State, No. 50 UC-Irvine, UC-Davis, Colorado, Fresno State, Hawaii, Long Beach State, Portland State and Tennessee-Chattanooga (Rankings according to Golfstat).
Traveling for the Cougars: Five Cougars will be traveling to California to take a swing at victory...the Cougar contingent includes seniors Tracy Broders and Brooke Henderson, juniors Amy Eneroth and Jessica Black and sophomore Diana Hong.
In the Rankings: In the latest Golfstat team ratings, the Washington State women rank 56th.
Cougars Keep Streak Alive: The Cougar women have amassed five consecutive top seven finishes this spring dating back to the Cuthbert Cup, Feb. 26...the Cougars' highest finish of the season came at the Spring Invitational (March 11) where they earned co-champion honors.
Eneroth Climbs Up the Record Books: Eneroth's victory at the Regional Preview April 1 marks the third of her career and the second consecutive win of the season...Eneroth now sits in a tie for third on the tournament wins in a season list (two) and is tied for second on the career wins list...Eneroth also moved into third place on the all-time top 25 finishes list (25).
Last Time at the Peg Barnard Invite: Last year the Cougars finished with three individuals in the top 25 and bounced back in the second round of competition to finish in seventh place...WSU's 287 in the second round was the third-lowest total of the day...the team combined for a total score of 594 and was led by Broders, who carded a 3-over par 145, good for 11th overall...Black and Hong both finished with a score of 150 and in a tie for 23rd...Eneroth finished one stoke out of the top 25 and ended with a score of 151...Henderson shot a 153 to round out the Cougar contingent.
Last Time Out: Led by a dominant first place performance from Eneroth, the Cougars shot a 907 and finished sixth at the Regional Preview April 1, hosted by Sacramento State...Eneroth cruised to a two-shot victory at the par-72, 6,018-yard Lincoln Hills Golf Club and recorded the lowest three-round total of her career, a 1-under par 215...Black also fared well and finished 20th overall...Black fired a three-round total of 224 (+6) and is now one top 25 finish away from cracking the all-time list...Broders finished with 233, Henderson inked a 236 and Hong shot a 240 to round out the Cougar scorers.
