Burkhart (25-2) went the distance, striking out 14 and walking one as top-ranked ASU improved to 44-2 and 8-0 in the Pac-10, while No. 23 Washington fell to 24-14-1 and 3-5 in the conference.
Washington outhit the Sun Devils, 7-4, but two of ASU's hits were home runs.

The Huskies managed to load the bases, but Burkhart induced a groundout from Dru Hester for the final out of the game.

Macon (13-7) lasted just two-thirds of an inning before being replaced by Noble, who allowed just three hits while striking out five.
