WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Washington State University freshman javelin thrower Marissa Tschida (pronounced chee-dah) was named the Pacific-10 Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for April 14-20, 2008.

Tschida, from Missoula, Mont., broke her own freshman school javelin record Friday, April 18, at the Mt. SAC Relays. She won her section with a toss of 161-feet, 8 inches (49.28m).
