April 24, 2008
PULLMAN, Wash. - Junior Amy Eneroth was named All-Pacific-10 Conference honorable mention Wednesday, following the completion of the women's conference tournament at Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
The announcement marks the third-consecutive All-Pac-10 selection for Eneroth. She is one of only three golfers in WSU history to earn all-conference recognition three times, following former Cougar All-Americans Anastasia Kostina and Kim Welch.
Eneroth, of Spokane, Wash., led the Cougars at the Pac-10 Championships for the second-straight year, finishing tied for 22nd. She earned five top 10 and 10 top 25 finishes during the 2007-08 regular season which included back-to-back victories at the Inland Cup (March 28) and the Regional Preview (April 1).
'Amy had numerous highlights this year and played great throughout the entire season,' Head Coach Walt Williams said. 'She is a great player and a great young lady and we are really proud and pleased that she is a Cougar.'
At the Regional Preview Eneroth also recorded her career-low round of 68, which ties for the seventh-lowest single-round score in school history. With her two victories, Eneroth sits in a tie for third on the tournament wins in a season list and is tied for second on the career wins list with three.
Eneroth also placed second in two tournaments this season, which included leading the women to victory at the Giustina Memorial (Sept. 18) and at the Duck Invitational (March 25).
Eneroth holds a 75.16 career scoring average, the third-lowest in WSU history. She also ranks third on both the career top 10 finishes list (16) and top 25s list (27).
'Amy has had a fantastic career thus far and we are looking forward to her senior year and seeing her break some more records,' Williams said.
Eneroth began her career by posting the top freshman scoring average in 2006 when she earned her first Pac-10 honor. Last season Eneroth was named to the All-Pac-10 Second Team.
