Stefanova and Cekic Conclude WSU's Run at Pac-10 Championships

Ojai, Calif. - The Washington State tennis team's run at a Pacific-10 Championship ended Saturday afternoon after Aleksandra Stefanova and Aleksandra Cekic lost in their semifinal doubles match in Ojai, California.

Stefanova and Cekic lost to Rachael Dillon and Daron Moore of California, 8-6, ending any chance for a WSU individual or doubles team to win a championship.

Stefanova and Cekic made an impressive run in the doubles invitational bracket after beating Ashlee Brown and Lauren Megale of Arizona State, 8-4, in the first round. The WSU duo would go on to defeat Oregon's Claudia Hirt and Carmen Seremeta, 8-1, in the quarterfinals.

'I am proud of the way Alex and Sasha competed this weekend,' head coach Lisa Hart said. 'They are a solid team and keep getting better every time they are on the court.'

The Pac-10 Championships conclude, Sunday, April 27.
