May 1, 2008
LOS ANGELES - UCLA's Tracy Lin and Riza Zalameda were named the No. 1 seeded team in the NCAA Doubles Championships on Wednesday, as members of both the men's and women's tennis teams were selected to compete in the NCAA Individual Championships, May 21-26 in Tulsa, Okla.
Lin and Zalameda, currently ranked No. 1 in the nation according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, will look to become the Bruins' first NCAA Doubles Champions since Daniela Bercek and Lauren Fisher captured the title back in 2004. Both players are also listed in the NCAA Singles draw along with teammates Yasmin Schnack and Andrea Remynse. Zalameda is the No. 8 seed in singles.
On the men's side, UCLA's Harel Srugo and Mathieu Dehaine are the Bruins' two entrants in singles, as both received at-large selections to the 64-player draw. Freshman Holden Seguso is currently listed as the third alternate and will get in if three players pull out.
