I'm writing from one of our favorite hotels that we stay at, the Valley River Inn in Eugene, Oregon. Yesterday we made the long drive down from Seattle to Eugene on the bus. We passed the time by watching three movies. We watched 27 Dresses, A Bee Movie, and Licensed to Wed. All were pretty good but A Bee Movie was by far the funniest.
On our way down we stopped to eat at Who Song and Larry's Mexican Restaurant which was on the Oregon/Washington border in Vancouver. We had a good time singing the 'Guacamole' song. While the waiter made the fresh guacamole we sang a new version of the song 'Wooly bully' and replaced the chorus with guacamole. It was pretty funny and the guitar player who accompanied the waiter was quite talented, with some better acoustics we could have probably made a recording.
Today we will be driving about 45 minutes north to Corvallis to play Oregon State at 3:00 p.m. In our home stand verses OSU we split so we are looking to win the series by getting a win this afternoon. On Friday we will be playing Oregon in a doubleheader and then one more game against the Ducks the following day. We rained out in our home game against Oregon so we will be playing them three times this weekend.
Overall this is a very important weekend for us. We need to rack up some wins to help our postseason cause and also gain some momentum going into the last and most important phase of our season. Fortunately all the games this weekend will be on the radio, and our Saturday game against Oregon will be airing on Fox Sports Northwest at 1:30 p.m.
Thank you to everyone who packed the stadium for our last home game of the season last Sunday. While the outcome wasn't what we hoped for, it was a special Senior Day for me and I enjoyed pitching my last innings in Husky Softball Stadium. Remember, tradition never graduates! Go Dawgs
