Stanford Track And Field Adds Four New Recruits To An Already Talented Class

Franklin P. Johnson director of Track and Field Edrick Floreal announced on Monday that he has added four talented recruits to what was already an outstanding class of incoming freshman. The four newest members of the Stanford track and field teams come with excellent high school credentials and should make an immediate impact on the Cardinal program.
The class includes Claire Collison, a distance runner from La Crescenta, Calif., Joy O'Hare, a sprinter from Colorado Springs, Colo., and Molly Kinsella, a thrower from Hinsdale, Ill. for the women's team and Riley Sullivan a distance runner from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. for the men's team.
'The 2008 incoming class of high potential recruits cover all of the event areas, said Floreal.' 'We will have a well balanced team which will make us a better, more competitive team. We are very excited that these outstanding student-athletes have decided to spend their next four years at Stanford University.'
Claire Collison - La Crescenta, CA (Crescenta Valley high school)Claire was second at the 2007 Division I California State Cross Country Championships. As a junior, Claire ran 4:50.39 for 1600m to finish 7th at the California State Track and Field Championships. She came back the same day and finished 10th in the 3200m. Claire recently ran 10:41.32 for 3200m at the Arcadia Invitational.
Joy O'Hare - Colorado Springs, Co (Cheyenne Mountain High School)Joy is an all around sprinter with competitive times in all three sprints. At the 2007Colorado Outdoor State meet, Joy placed 2nd in both the 100m and the 200m. In addition, she anchored the 2007 Colorado State Championship winning 4x100m relay team. Joy holds the Cheyenne Mountain High school records in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m and was voted MVP for both track and cross country.
Molly Kinsella - Hinsdale, IL (Hinsdale Central High School)Molly is a shot put and discus thrower, who has qualified for the Illinois State Championships for the last 3 years and has twice won the conference title. Additionally, as the team captain of the nationally-ranked Hinsdale Central High basketball team, Molly led the Red Devils to two conference and regional championships.
Riley Sullivan - Rancho Santa Margarita, CA (Trabuco Hills High School)Riley finished 20th at the 2007 Footlocker National Championships and currently holds the 5th fastest 3200m in the nation with a time of 8:56.09 at the Arcadia Invitational. He is the 3rd fastest 1600m runner in the nation with his 4:12.72 win at the Orange County Championships. Riley finished second at the 2007 Division 1 California State Cross Country Meet and was a member of the 2006 Trabuco Hills State Championship team.
