Cunningham Takes Fifth At Body Bar Nationals

Colorado Springs, Colo. - In her first competition in more than two years, Cardinal wrestler Christine Cunningham went 2-2 and took fifth place at the Body Bar Women's National Championships at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs last weekend.
Competing at 63 kg, Cunningham won her first match, 6-0, 6-0, then defeated Shamaine Danner of Missouri in the fifth-place match, 3-0, 5-3.
Cunningham, who redshirted her first season on the Stanford wrestling team in 2007-08, is one of two female wrestlers on the current Stanford team, and the first since Olympic bronze medalist Patricia Miranda who wrestled from 1998-02.
