Two Wildcats Earn All-Pac-10 Volleyball Honors

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Senior Dominique Lamb and freshman Tiffany Owens each earned 2007 All-Pacific-10 Conference honors, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Monday. Lamb received All-Pac-10 honorable mention honors, while Owens was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman-Team.
Lamb, from Chandler, Ariz., earns All-Pac-10 honorable mention honors for the third-consecutive year. The 6-foot-1 middle blocker etched her name in the Arizona career-record books this past season, as she finished her career No. 1 all-time with 464 block assists, and second all-time in school history with 527 total blocks. Over her four year-career, she has averaged 1.33 blocks per game and 2.03 kills per game, and ranks sixth all-time having played in 118 career matches as a Wildcat.
This season, she was third on the squad with a 2.53 kills per game average on .276 hitting, and led the team with a 1.47 blocks per game average, the second-best mark in the Pac-10. She alsoposted five or more blocks in 17 of the Wildcats' 31 matches.
Owens, from San Bernardino, Calif., earns All-Pac-10 Freshman Team honors after a stellar debut season for the Wildcats. Owens was second on the team with a 3.44 kills per game average, including a team-high 3.88 kills per game mark in Pac-10 play. She also posted double-figures in kills 20 times during the season, including 11 of the last 12 matches.
Owens posted a career-best 25 kills twice on the season, and had two double-doubles. In the last 12 matches of the year, Owens was at her best as she averaged a team-best 4.55 kills per game down the stretch.
Arizona finished the 2007 season with a 14-17 overall record, and a 4-14 mark in Pac-10 play. The Wildcats ended the year by knocking off No. 10 UCLA in four games in the season finale on Nov. 24. The Wildcats are scheduled to return 10 letterwinners for next year's squad.
