Oyen Named Associate Head Coach

January 29, 2008

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona assistant soccer coach Lisa Oyen has been promoted to an associate head coaching position, UA head coach Dan Tobias announced today.

“This was an easy decision for me,” Tobias said. “Lisa has earned more responsibility and a promotion because of the quality and consistency of her work. She is an excellent coach and one of the best people I have ever met in college athletics.”

Oyen, a 1998 graduate of the University of Montana and a four-year letterwinner in soccer for the Grizzles, has been a member of Tobias’ coaching staff for seven seasons, including all five in Tucson and two more at Washington State.

'I am thankful to Dan, Jim Livengood and Rocky LaRose for allowing me the opportunity to hold this position with our soccer program,' Oyen said. 'It is an honor to work for an athletic department that has such a strong dedication to its staff members and student-athletes alike. I am very excited about the future of Arizona soccer and very proud to be a part of Wildcat athletics.'
